We are a small mixed-age learning environment for registered homeschoolers. Our program is rooted in relationships and places an emphasis on children as individual learners.

After beginning the morning with outside free play, our program will begin with connection. This is where the students get to share with the teachers and with one another about what’s happening in their lives, and the things they would like to focus on for the day. This might include playing a game, sharing a project, or adding things to their Learning Path board.

2

We will focus on all core subjects in the morning, while brains are sharp and most focused! This block of time will include Language Arts, Math, and a History/Science rotation. Students will be grouped by ability and can work at their own pace while the teachers flow from group to group as needed. Each student will establish their own Learning Path for all subjects and areas of interest, with regular check-ins and adjustments with the teacher as needed. The students will be encouraged to set small and big goals and work towards those goals each day.

3

The afternoon enrichment time will focus on creativity and collaboration. We will use Project-Based Learning as our guide, as students explore various areas of interest.

4

Learners will have opportunities for individual projects as well as group-oriented projects. We will focus in area for 4-6 weeks at a time, culminating in a parent-presentation at the end of each project.

We firmly believe that learning is life. The two are intertwined. Children are born natural learners, and it brings them joy! We want to continue igniting that joy by nurturing student’s interests and passions. Once foundational reading, writing and basic math has been established, the pursuit of one’s passion should be the main goal in education.

At the core of project based learning, is real world context. Through PBL, students engage in learning that is deep, long-lasting, and relevant to the challenges of their lives and the world they will inherit. The future will require deep thinkers and problem solvers, and we believe project-based learning cultivates such an individual.

We live in an extraordinary time of unprecedented opportunities. Technology is enabling us to do new and exciting things. Innovation – which really means combining existing things in new ways – is a core value in our education. All kids are natural creators and inventors. We will encourage and help facilitate their exciting ideas and creative pursuits.
